Your vote to lift the ban on "Street-Sweeper" types of assault weapons is pretty bard to swallow: either you love the playthings, or you are deeply and humbly committed to the National Rifle Association. That vote last week was. almost as bad as your support for Senator Cooper's "Clinton Lite" bill undermining the President's health plan two years back. And you said Clinton was your friend? And you behaved this way a Democratic whip in the house? This may be cute and clever politics, but ultimately and hopefully soon backfire on you. My wife and I almost inevitably vote for Democrats and we are members of the Democratic Party. Unfortunately, you are pushing us into a position of holding our noses and voting Republican or perhaps for any third party candidate who might come along. No, we are not impressed by your globe-trotting diplomacy. There is much that needs to be done in and for your district without expending your time and energy on matters beat left to the State Department. More than anything, what is needed is your full attention to the needs of New Mexico. Showboating is best left to Republicans. Sincerely, Nicholas Econopouly cc New Democratic Victory Fund President Bill Clinton Democratic National Committee back to Nick's Page
